Paul Flato’s aquamarine and ruby belt necklace up for sale at BaselWorld
A stunning 1935 aquamarine and ruby studded belt necklace was designed by the late Paul Flato, the celebrity jeweler who has catered to Hollywood icons like Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich and Vivien Leigh. This belt necklace features a buckle designed by by Fulco Duke of Verdure for renowned jeweler Flato. Originally purchased by song writer Cole Porter, for his wife Louisville, Kentucky socialite wife Linda, the belt features 566 rectangular, and fancy brilliant-cut aquamarines and 39 oval fancy-cut rubies. The 15.5-inch set has been signed by Paul Flato on the clasp and would be on sale at this year's BaselWorld. Siegelson, a New York-based purveyor of high-end and rare jewelry will put the piece on sale for a staggering $1,750,000. Thanks Jeanette
