The Carrillo Residence is yet another impressive project from Ehrlich Architects. Located in Pacific Palisades, California, this inspiring family home sits on the edge of Santa Monica Canyon and also has views over the Pacific Ocean in the distance. Here is some information from the architects: "Designed for a young couple with two children, the house addresses the formal and informal needs of the family while taking advantage of the Southern California climate and views. The orientation of the house reinforces the geometry of the site. A series of stone masses define the ground floor program while a pristine floating white box houses the bedroom wings and slides over and past the stone to gesture towards the canyon and the views". This home is a combination of modern living areas especially designed for adults and playful spaces for kids, including an impressive outdoor play yard. We really like the open living room and the original pivot doors which let in fresh air when needed.
