Wind Cubes concept could power your home with wind energy

Eco Factor: Concept wind turbine can be used to generate renewable energy.

With cost of energy rising with every passing day, designers over the world have focused their attention on systems that can help homeowners generate renewable energy to reduce their electricity bills. Industrial designers Liao-Hsun Chen and Wen-Chih Chang have come up with a concept wind energy generating system, dubbed Wind Cube, which can somehow generate enough energy to take your home off the grid.

The design is made up of blades, a generator, a telescopic shaft, electric power plug and a switch. Once installed, these wind turbines can start producing electricity for your home. The designers estimate that each Wind Cube will be able to generate 21.6KWh of electricity and 15 such systems working together could produce all the energy a family of four needs.

The Wind Cubes can be attached to the outside wall of your house with three screws and clicking a single switch activates the system. Multiple Cubes can also be connected to generate more power and strengthen the entire installation.
