Seen as the illegitimate stepchild of the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Lamborghini Indomable Concept is the sportscar with the heart of a jet fighter. Created during the Car Design Master at the Milan, Italy based Scuola Politecnica di Design, the Lamborghini Indomable Concept is a meld of different design languages. Naturally, based off of the exquisite and sexy design language of the Gallardo but with some key design elements stemming from modern jet fighters like the F22 Raptor. The most exciting part about this concept is that it is a production concept, based on the Gallardo. So does this mean that we could be looking at the Gallardo's replacement? Only time will tell.
The Lamborghini Indomable Concept was designed by Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares at the SPD Master in collaboration with Lamborghini. Unlike other concepts, this one has the validity and go ahead from it's parent company that the design language thesis is borrowed from. The entire project was conducted under the supervision of the head of the Centro Stile, Filipo Perini and designer Alessandro Salvagnin.
The front end of this concept reinterprets the brand's design language and takes in into the next generation of Lamborghini. Some key design elements include the engine cover which is inspired by the functional system of the F22 which actually features an invisible weapons bay doors and the zig zag assembly pattern. The "Y" shape at the center of the engine cover leaves the V10 powerplant open for your viewing pleasure through the glass surface. Furthermore, the radiators are located at the center of the car and twin air intakes provide cooling to the massive brakes. Ochoa states that the concept features soft transitions between the surfaces with hard cuts. These serve as the main design cues and create the functional elements of the car. Sexy, sporty and functional? We must be dreaming!!!
